In Philippians 4:11 Paul says that he has learned to be content in whatever the circumstances. I have always wondered what Paul knew that could let him feel contented no matter what was happening. I think I have finally figured it out.
1. God knows everything and is in control of everything. Nothing happens that He does not allow to happen. We may not understand why He does, or does not, allow things to happen, but we must have faith to trust Him in everything.
2. God knows the future and therefore, nothing surprises Him.
3. God has a plan for each one of us.
4. God knows what each of us needs, wants and desires. Ask God to provide them. But remember, He also knows what is best for us and that is always what He will provide.
5. God will make things happen and let things happen that we do not understand. We must remember that He is God. We need to refer to numbers 1-4 above and trust God that He knows what He is doing. He really does!
6. When we trust God completely, we will be content have peace in all circumstances. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Pray and ask Him to help. He will.
I am not there yet but I am working on it. I have found that the level of stress in my life has lessened and that overall, I am happy and at peace.
